If you have never been to a wedding or private event at the Boston Public Library you are really missing out. The BPL is an incredible space with so many different areas and ways to use the venue. Each area of the venue is dripping with charm. This May 22, 2016 wedding utilized the front marble steps of the main entrance off Dartmouth Street. We had an elegant string quartet, Infinity Strings, set up in the upper right hand corner playing music as guests made their way into the Library.

The bride wanted to do something really special with a surprise element for her groom. I helped her arrange a solo vocalist with accompanist to perform “Make you Feel My Love” by Adele. We incorporated the fabulous talents of Felicia Taylor (lead singer of Boston band Unity. Felicia stood quietly among the guests during the beginning of the ceremony and then when it was time to do the song, she quickly made her way up to the front area to sing. It was a really special moment for everyone at the wedding. A very cool move!
Other elements of night included our jazz group Twilight performing an engaging set of classic blue note style jazz favorites from Art Blakey, Thelonious Monk, John Miles Davis and Bill Evans. There was also plenty of dancing after dinner in the Poplar Reading Room thanks to the amazing DJ and writer of this post! (Seriously, I did pretty good and I’m a really nice guy!)
Beautiful wedding for a great couple. Murray Hill Talent always loves working with the crew at Catered Affair. I also need to give a special shout out to the talented photographer Jessica McHale!
