Josh Knowles is an accomplished DJ, violinist, and singer/songwriter based in Boston. Studying classical violin since the age of 4, his love of music developed early. He often jokes that the violin became an extra appendage! As he discovered new genres, though, his horizons broadened, and his interests led him to becoming an accomplished DJ. A born composer, combining the skills of a musician with the versatility of a DJ came naturally. His eclectic taste allows him to cater to a variety of events. Having been a frontman in bands, Josh is very comfortable on the microphone and knows how to address a crowd. His super cool demeanor makes guests feel welcome and comfortable and his musical energy will change the mind of anyone who says “I don’t dance.”
If requested, Josh can perform as a violinist at wedding ceremonies and even play electric violin over hip tracks for cocktail hour. For clients interested in incorporating a live instrument during their reception, Josh has developed the unique skill of layering live electric violin over your favorite recorded songs. If straight up DJ is more your speed, he’s happy to put the strings away and focus on the decks! The choice is yours, but we all love options!
