I just wanted to say thank you so much for last night! I truly couldn’t have had a more perfect and fitting DJ. You completely understood what we wanted, and delivered it just beautifully. The music during dinner was ridiculous — It was PERFECT! ???? About 25 different guests commented on how much they loved the music selection. (And there were only 35 of us!). We really cannot thank you enough. You’re awesome.

This company came highly recommended by a close friend. After having our original DJ (FROM ANOTHER COMPANY) canceled we were devastated that is when we heard about this company! Luckily we were able to choose from several of their talented DJ’S on such sort notice we picked Josh Nachbar based off of his profile on the website! He was great he was professional and arrived extra early to set up and make sure everything was working properly. He followed exactly what we asked and we got told by several people that our wedding had the best music! Thank you Josh for getting our part started and keeping it going!

Josh Nachbar with Murray Hill Talent was my DJ this past Saturday at my wedding. He was AWESOME! Murray Hill Talent provided a helpful worksheet to give to Josh prior to the wedding and everything went perfectly. He played the best mix of music, exactly what we wanted. And he was very flexible when we wanted to switch songs on the fly. I would definitely recommend them!

Josh believes the fundamentals of what makes a truly great DJ are the ability to read and react to a crowd, knowing ones place appropriately, and being genuinely fun to be around.
The biggest mistakes of a beginning DJ usually lie in understanding the role of the DJ in a particular setting, i.e. an inappropriate song in a romantic setting. Sometimes all I think is ‘What are you nuts!?! DO NOT kill the atmosphere.’
I don’t mind getting on the mic – the truth is I rather enjoy it, as someone very comfortable in their own skin, and especially with a responsive crowd, BUT, I believe in the philosophy of shut-up-and-play-great-music more than talking, so I try to stick with exceptional and creative song choice mixed with a very musical presentation over getting on the mic when not needed. I like keeping dance parties alive by never letting the beat end when the dancing gets hot, but I stay away from cutting memorable songs off too early for the sake of ‘doing something’. Great music makes happy dancers, happy dancers make a great crowd and a happy night.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Josh has been an event DJ for over seven years, DJing his own senior prom, community events, and wedding receptions and ceremonies. When not actively working, he teaches a DJ masterclass out of Guitar Center Braintree.
