In this off-season, while we reflect on the successful summer and fall of 2024, I have to shout out my favorite wedding of the year! I was at the Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA on a perfect September night, celebrating Katerina and Joe. They were such a sweet couple; drama free and ready to party. We talked a few times before the wedding so we really had a chance to get to know each other. I always find this makes for a much more successful event. Once you’re in a groove with a couple, you can just focus on making the vision come to life. Our resident guitarist Tom Pendergast played the ceremony and I picked up for cocktail hour and the reception. It was clear from the get go that dancing was the focus. Dinner was just the fuel! Katerina and Joe were on the dance floor from beginning to end and if the bride and groom are getting down like that, how can the rest of the guests not?! It was infectious energy. The song of the night, which has been coming up a lot lately, was Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! by Abba. When I played it, the bride screamed so loud I could hear her over the music and the chatter of a hundred and fifty guests. Check out the clip! I made that dance floor SWEAT and they loved it. If every wedding of 2025 is anything like this one, we are in for a fun ride!
“From the beginning, the folks at Murray Hill were helpful and communicative, and facilitated us interviewing with multiple DJs until we found the perfect match for us. We chose guitarist Tom Pendergast for our ceremony and DJ Niko for our cocktail hour and reception. Both were excellent and easy to work with! The ceremony music was beautiful, and Tom even started playing a little early as we were taking photos in the ceremony space. Throughout the planning process, Niko was so kind, and was available to answer questions and help us plan the perfect night. Niko had the dance floor PACKED on our wedding night, and played such a fun mix of music that had everyone up and dancing. He did a great job reading the room, and played all of the songs we wanted to hear. The dance party was a highlight of the night for us and our guests. Thank you!”
