In 1995, Reia Briggs-Connor (former New England\u00a0Patriot Cheerleader) created a\u00a0full dance theater company. After three successful\u00a0seasons as a Patriot\u00a0Cheerleader, Mrs. Briggs-\u00a0Connor returned to her professional dance and en-\u00a0tertainment\u00a0industry roots. Mrs. Briggs-Connor, a\u00a0seasoned artist, has over 15 years of diverse en-\u00a0tertainment and performance experience which in-\u00a0cludes the following: a recording contract\u00a0with Cor-\u00a0nell Brown and Maurice Starr of New Kids on the\u00a0Block and performances with\u00a0popular artists Bel\u00a0Biv Devoe, Four Fun and Savion Glover.
\nWith the assistance of Corey Israel, (long time Al-\u00a0vin Ailey student) Ms. Briggs developed\u00a0Phunk\u00a0Phenomenon.<\/p>\n
Composed of New England’s (the Tri-State area in particular) finest male and female dance\u00a0and promotional talent, the Phunk Phenomenon combines these unique multi-ethnic,\u00a0multicul-\u00a0tural urban artists to create a intriguing blend of modern and traditional dance\u00a0styles. The end\u00a0result is a provocative dance performance with a unique synthesis of style\u00a0and appearance.<\/p>\n
And, Phunk Phenomenon’s signature is its cross-cultural fusion\u00a0of traditional, contemporary\u00a0“street” dance formats with high-\u00a0lights of modern dance, ballet, tap and various music forms
\n(jazz, house, hip hop, tribal, and Latin).<\/p>\n
Under girding the creative and artistic aspects of the perform-\u00a0ance is a bedrock of thought-provoking positive messages.
