The Boston band favored by bigshots had a private moment with\u00a0<strong>President Bill Clinton<\/strong>\u00a0before he was hustled out of Saturday\u2019s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.heart.org\/HEARTORG\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> American Heart Association<\/a> soiree at the Copley Westin. Seems the former commander in chief caught sight of\u00a0<strong>Elan Trotman<\/strong>\u2018s saxophone and wanted to take a closer look, so Clinton and his Secret Service detail ducked into a kitchen to allow the ex prez to talk with Trotman about his black Selmer sax. \u201dHe was telling us about his collection,\u201d said band manager\u00a0<strong>Corin Ashley<\/strong>. \u201dHe has about 20 saxes given to him over the years.\u201d Flipside\u2019s played for\u00a0<strong>Jack<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Suzy Welch<\/strong>, \u201dSurvivor\u201d alum\u00a0<strong>Elisabeth Filarski<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Tom Finneran<\/strong>\u2018s two daughters, but conversing with Clinton? \u201dThe guy\u2019s ridiculously charming,\u201d said Ashley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Carol Beggy &amp; Mark Shanahan, Globe Staff \u00a0 Clinton talks sax with Flipside Flipside are Friends of Bill.
