In Spring of 2008, the world came to Boston’s Fan Pier, and Murray Hill Talent entertained them. The Volvo Ocean Race made only one stop in North America. Bringing all the excitement and spectacle of this worldwide event to Boston’s world-class waterfront destination, Fan Pier. The race started on October 11, 2008 from Alicante, Spain and took over nine months, covered nearly 37,000 nautical miles of the globe’s most treacherous seas, and stopped in 11 ports around the world.
Boston was chosen as one of only 11 stopovers in the global Volvo Ocean Race, and Murray Hill Talent was excited to have been chosen as the exclusive provider of live local musical entertainment throughout the festivities.
Fan Pier was transformed into an entire village, featuring interactive experiences, educational programs, childrens’ activities, eclectic food offerings, sailing related products and demonstrations, as well as some of Boston’s most exciting and diverse musicians and entertainers. Dance party bands, DJs, Caribbean, Latin, Acoustic and Jazz acts were just a few of the dozens of entertainers we lined up for the event, which drew hundreds of thousands of visitors.
