Scott Arrington (DJ So&So)
After 16 years, Scott Arrington is still one of the most requested event DJs in Boston. Known in local circles as DJ So&So, he has performed at thousands of events for the most discerning and prestigious clients. A skilled DJ and turntablist, Scott is also highly experienced with client communication.
Scott has studied and obsessed over music from a young age. He was given an opportunity to work with Murray Hill Talent in 2006. It began a journey not only to sharpen his expertise in music, but also to learn how to use those skills to give clients the experience they’ve envisioned for their event. From a personal standpoint, he has never stopped digging for new music and continues to practice his craft constantly. He spends countless hours in the studio, creating custom mixes and studying the art of turntablism.
Among his many high profile events, he has performed opening sets for Grammy winners Train and Christina Aguilera, as well as comedian Jim Gaffigan. Just a few of his many clients include The New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, The Weather Channel, Microsoft, Toyota, Lexus, and Million Dollar Round Table. MDRT has also flown Scott to conferences outside of New England to perform for people from all over the world. He maintains that music is a universal language, and something everyone can share.
Dakeya Christmas (DJ Doc Thoro)
Dakeya began his music career helping his father DJ parties as a young boy. It afforded him the opportunity to learn DJing in its purest form – vinyl. He went on to a career as a recording engineer at some of the biggest studios in New York City. A native of the Bronx, he has worked on albums with artists such as Missy Elliott and Wyclef Jean, among many more. He was given the name Doc Thoro after artists realized just how thorough he is at his job. As a producer, he has created one-of-a-kind beats for local hip-hop artists and turntablists. Having established himself in Boston, he has become an accomplished private event and club DJ with a musical mind nearly unparalleled.
Dakeya knows the key ingredients to make any dance party a success. The right music, mixed with the crowd in mind, and the right attitude. He is enthusiastic but laid back and prefers to let the music do the talking. A kind soul and a friendly face, Dakeya puts clients at ease immediately, ensuring everything goes smoothly from start to finish.
In his free time, he is constantly looking for new (and old!) music to add to his repertoire. Dropping that one track you loved years ago but had forgotten about – that’s what has made Dakeya a memorable performer at hundreds of events.
