We had the pleasure of working with Canadian based event planning company E=mc2 to help produce an amazing themed event for a company called Synergy. The event took on a 1930s’ theme and was held at Carrie Nation on Beacon Hill in Boston, MA. Roving Prohibition era characters, Carnival Barkers, Cigar Rollers and old fashioned Shoe Shine men were moving about the front of the venue as guests entered. Our band/DJ hybrid group Solstice was in full stride, setting a musical tone of Gatsby era swing and jazz fused with modern electronic takes on the genre. The vibe was almost kitschy yet sophisticated and really festive. Guest were able to play old time carnival games (think milk bottles and ring toss) while they danced, drank, ate and socialized. We also helped create a hidden backroom “speakeasy” where guests were required to give a secret password to get past the doorman. We situated our Photo Booth in the back of this room. Guest love nothing more than to have their pictures taken during theme events when they are dressed the part! Modeled after a 1930s speakeasy, Carrie Nation is the ultimate place to have an event like this. In their own words…”Prohibition may be in the past, but the decadent and secretive quintessence of the 20s, is thriving in downtown Boston” Thank you to everyone who came together to make this party a huge success!
